Andrew Tsui, Co-Founder
Andrew is a social entrepreneur and an urban farmer following his previous roles in both the public and private sector before he began his social entrepreneurship journey.
Having grown up in both Hong Kong and Singapore which are highly urbanised and heavily reliant on imported food, and with his background in real-estate and civil engineering, he realised the potential of urban spaces in Hong Kong to make a difference in the relationship people had with their food, and co-founded the social enterprise Rooftop Republic in 2015.
Andrew is active in the social enterprise community, having served as a business summary judge and trainer for the Hong Kong Social Enterprise Challenge since 2011, and a consultant to HKUST SIGHT Programme on Design Thinking. He is also a guest lecturer at the Institute for China Business, HKU SPACE on business innovation and sustainability. He is also an industry partner consulting on agritech initiatives for STEAM/STEM education.
Andrew graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree and received an EMBA degree from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and had served in the military, as well as the Business Development Director of a China-based Asset Management company.
