Hong Kong Warm Growing Season (May-August)

 

At least 6 hours daily under full sun 

High amount of water

Give pumpkins to 1-1.5 inches of water each week (1 inch of water is equivalent to about 16 gallons)

 

Plant it in a container that is sized at least 10 gallons big

Space the seedlings 24 inches apart, in rows 6-10 feet apart

Do not refrigerate pumpkins
Pumpkin in storage can shrink as much as 20%  in weight but will still be suitable for cooking
The name 'pumpkin' comes from the Greek word "pepon", meaning large melon
 
Pumpkins are grown for competitions and can weight over 1000 pounds
