At least 6 hours of sunlight daily 

It does best under full sun but will tolerate some shade

Thyme is fairly drought tolerant so it only needs an occasional watering once established 


Plant in a well-draining container that is at least 10 inches deep and fill with potting soil

Keep the soil moist but not overly wet and fertilize occasionally

Plant the thin seedlings 12 inches apart when they are 2 to 3 inches tall in rows 16 to 24 inches apart

Thyme is originated from the Mediterranean region where the climate is hot and dry
Unlike some herbs that have to be eaten freshly, Thyme's flavor is as good after it's dried 
Thyme is commonly used in cooking and has approximately 60 varieties of the plant
The Thyme oil extracted can have antiseptic qualities
The antiseptic qualities of Thyme can be used to treat bronchitis (Ask your doctor before you experiment with treatments!)
